Marsa al-Arab Residences — luxury beyond luxury
One of my tasks is to photograph all the signature projects and locations in the cities where Whitewill sells real estate. Through photo stories, I try to capture the atmosphere and architectural details of these places to help our clients find a worthy place to live or invest.
This week, I visited a friend of mine. He recently moved from the luxurious Bulgari to Dubai's most expensive residential complex — the Marsa al-Arab project. We walked around the grounds and inside the complex, and I put together a selection of exclusive photos.
The residential complex is located in the Jumeirah area, next to the legendary sail-shaped Burj al-Arab hotel.
The visual concept of the residential complex was developed by architect Sean Killa, who was also behind the creation of the Museum of the Future. The project features two structures: a 16-story hotel and a ten-story residential complex.
When sketching the silhouettes of Marsa al-Arab, Sean drew inspiration from the elegant lines of superyachts. The structure has smooth, curved forms reminiscent of a yacht's silhouette. It seems as though the residential complexes are floating — not on water, but on a carpet of greenery. You rarely find such density of trees in one place anywhere else in Dubai.
In the hotel section, an elegant arched entrance weighing 3,000 tons frames the view of Burj al-Arab, creating a striking visual impression for guests.
The residential section features 82 exclusive apartments with spacious terraces. Two-bedroom units range from 190 to 400 square meters. Three-bedroom layouts span 250 to 500 square meters. Four-bedroom residences cover 450 to 1,000 square meters. The variation in square footage is partly due to terrace sizes. Sales launched in 2021.
The most expensive penthouse in the project sold for $115 million — to one of our clients. The top three floors of the hotel section comprise 2,500 square meters.
Amenities within the residential complex include: two palm-fringed pools, a fitness center, a stylish lobby with a bar and a small restaurant, and a private marina for yachts. Residents also enjoy access to all the perks of the five-star hotel, which is preparing for opening.
