Dubai's ambitious neighbor. Oleg Torbosov's business trip to Riyadh
We have already told you how Oleg Torbosov spent the first days of his trip around Riyadh, where he studied real estate, the city and market prospects. In addition, he had time to communicate with locals and understand a little better their attitude to the city and general moods.
2 revealing dialogs with the locals
On the tour, Oleg asked the guide:
"What do you think of the city?"
"I hate Riyadh," replied a young girl who married a foreigner and moved here with him. She also said that the capital has parties, alcohol and everything else.
And the next dialog took place in the trendy Garage space, a startup gas pedal on the site of the former royal garages. And here are 16 companies with Russian-speaking entrepreneurs.
The founder of an online stylist app said:
"Guys, build some proper housing here, otherwise all the houses are so ugly. We have to live in Dubai and fly here for lectures and meetings."
"You live in Dubai too?" - Oleg clarified.
"Yes, everyone who can afford it lives in Dubai."
Average rental prices
Renting a one-bedroom apartment in a nice neighborhood will cost $40,000 a year. In an ordinary neighborhood, $15,000-$20,0000. Cab drivers speak almost no English - take into account when moving or traveling in the country.
Riyadh's main star
Oleg also had time to attend a soccer match with Cristiano Ronaldo, who is rightfully the main star of the city. The Portuguese made a lot of mistakes, but still scored his goal and won the Abu Dhabi club with a score of 5:1.
Arab hospitality
The Saudis seemed very hospitable. They treat you to chocolate and coffee everywhere, invite you to visit, try to please and believe in their country. Locals say to come to Riyadh in 2030 when many super projects will be completed.
We'll be watching with interest to see how the city develops. In the meantime, we advise flippers to take a closer look at this market.
