Dubai Knowledge Park neighborhood is home to dozens of universities and vocational colleges in Dubai. You probably already know the word "freezone" - a location where entrepreneurs can start a company with 100% foreign participation without local partners in the founders and at the same time without taxes on revenue, profits, dividends and salaries.

Dubai Knowledge Park is an educational freezone. It now has 400 companies registered in it from the higher and vocational education sector.

The two largest and most notable buildings belong to Australia's University of Woollongong in Dubai and Britain's Heriot Watt.

The Dubai branch of Australia's UOWD now has 3,500 students. Tuition is $15,000 per year, that's just over a million rubles. Accommodation and food will cost about $2k a month more.

At Heriot-Watt University's UK campus, students study to the same standards as students in England. You can earn a bachelor's degree in management, construction, surveying and engineering, a master's degree in petroleum engineering, construction project management or complete the MBA program from the world-renowned Edinburgh Business School.

Across the street begin the low-rise Arabian-style campuses of a dozen smaller universities, schools and colleges. For example, ICCA is an international school of culinary arts. SAE is an American institute that trains professionals in sound recording, filmmaking, television, journalism, animation and web design. Middlesex University Dubai - a branch of a British university with an internship in England and 70 specialties: accounting and finance, marketing, robotics, psychology, law, digital media and fashion.

Moscow universities are an order of magnitude larger. The difference is that here there is no such thing as student dormitories - all universities in DKP on their websites offer students accommodation in hotels.

There are only perfect roads, palm trees and expensive hotels around - but what about student romance: guitar songs, janitors, chicken-flavored doshirak?
