Dubai Media City. A neighborhood for journalists and advertisers.
Today we will tell you about another curious location in the center of Dubai - Dubai Media City. It is a freezone for TV channels and news agencies, publishers and online media, companies in the communication, advertising and event industry.
Three glass low-rise buildings by the pond bear the logos of CNN, MBC, and Thompson Reuters. And in the neighboring loft quarter you can walk to cozy office mansions and read the names of other Media City residents on the signs near the entrance: Guinness World Records, The Walt Disney, The Economist, TripAdvisor, Sony Music.
There are now 1,600 companies from the media and advertising industry registered in this freezone. Opening in such thematic clusters of Dubai, entrepreneurs from all over the world get not only 100% ownership of the company, zero taxes on salaries, profits and dividends, but also the environment - all neighbors in the area work in a similar field to you. That's why the freezone administration holds forums and round tables, sporting events and networking parties for residents here as well.
Interestingly, the buildings in the loft part of Media City are named after popular fonts: Helvetica, Rockwell, Garamond. The buildings are painted in bright colors and the history of this or that font is written right on the wall.
