Abu Dhabi is a global center for artificial intelligence
Last week, Trump visited the Emirati capital where he signed an important agreement with local authorities. They announced the construction of the largest data center for artificial intelligence outside the United States, which will appear in Abu Dhabi.
Ahead of the planet
The new data center will occupy an area of 26 km2 and will appear in the developing industrial zone of Abu Dhabi. It is being built as part of the Stargate project, which involves OpenAI, Oracle and the Emirates MGX Foundation. The $100 billion project will give the Emirates access to supply 500,000 of Nvidia's latest-generation chips annually.
The $100 billion project
OpenAI will additionally house its own research center that will train models in Arabic and other languages. Technically, the data center is not the biggest, but with its 5 gigawatts of energy capacity and technological novelty, it is one of the most ambitious projects on the planet.
Construction will begin this year. The total cost of the project is $100 billion.
Why it's important for investors
Such global projects have a direct impact on the influx of new wealthy expats to the city. Thousands of new jobs will be created and high-paid IT professionals will move to the Emirates.
The Disneyland effect
After the announcement of the construction of “Disneyland” on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, prices for new buildings in the location began to rise sharply. Many clients with signed contracts pulled out of the deal and paid 10% penalties, wanting to sell the asset for 30% more.
What can be concluded
The $10 billion investment in Disneyland is an influx of millions of new tourists. That means new expats and residents who will buy real estate. Therefore, we advise not to wait for the right moment - and invest in Abu Dhabi.
The capital is just gaining momentum.
